Laura Heine - Advanced Applique Quilt Class
Take your fabric collage skills to the next level with our Laura Heine - Advanced Applique Quilt Class at Artistic Quilts with Colors. Designed for students who have mastered the foundations of Laura Heine collage, this class challenges you to work with a much more advanced projects to create a sophisticated, striking quilt. You'll build confidence working independently while refining your eye for value, tone, and fabric placement.
Advanced Applique Quilt Class has a pre-requisite Laura Heine - Applique Quilt Foundations class (please do not register for advanced class if you haven't attended Foundation class run by a certified Laura Heine instructor)
Materials Needed:

Required one of the following patterns:
- We Highly Recommend a kit to go with the patterns to stay on track with the class and focus on perfecting your techniques
Before Class:
- Only Steam-a-Seam 2 will be acceptable for this class (Lite Steam-a-Seam and/or Heat-n-Bond will not be accepted for this class)
- If you not using the kit:
- Identify clearly which fabrics will be for what parts of the pattern
- Cut out pieces of the fabrics as indicated on the pattern
- Pre-fuse all of your fabric with Steam-A-Seam 2 and cut out all the individual pre-fused fabrics
- Trim Steam-A-Seam lines around the fabric stickers
- Clearly sort your fabrics into background fabrics, actual main design fabrics and cuttables
- Use your pattern to help you to identify which sizes and what type of fabrics you will need for each part of the design

- STEAM-A-SEAM 2 -24": yardage is indicated on your pattern
- LAURA HEINE - Collage Mat
- LAURA HEINE - Stiletto
- Laura Hein - Sew Tites
- LAURA HEINE FIBREWORKS - Laura's Micro-Serrated Collage Scissors
- Cutterpillar light board (optional, but very useful)
No need to bring a sewing machine. We’ve got you covered with irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, and rotary cutters available for your use.
Refunds and cancellations:
Due to the structure and teacher payments, you can transfer the registration to another date. Refunds are only possible if the spot is filled. You can find a replacement or gift your spot if you can't attend. Policy may Vary. Purchasing implies agreement. Thanks!
We want your class experience to be fun and stress-free. Here are a few things to know before you sign up:
- We need at least 4 students for a class to run. If we don’t reach that number, we’ll reschedule and make sure you get a spot in the next session.
- Safety comes first. If the weather is unsafe, we’ll reschedule and keep you updated by email or phone.
Refund Policy
Due to class structure and teacher commitments, refunds are only available if your spot is filled. You are welcome to find someone to take your place or gift your registration. Purchasing a spot confirms agreement with this policy.
