Each month we will be working on the Funky Friends of the Month. You can see different friends each month here. 

To learn properly how to make a toy, we all must work on the same project with the kit of the month. This will allow us to finish 80-90% of the toy during the workshop and not loose valuable time cutting the patterns and each student following different patterns. 

We will be learning the following:

• Pattern Reading: How to read the pattern properly
• Fabric Cutting: How to precisely cut the fabric and how to fussy cut the fabric to highlight special designs or cameos in the fabric
• Sewing Techniques needed for toy making, including proper seam allowance
• Hand Sewing: Performing detailed hand sewing for small parts and finishing touches.
• Attaching Parts: Securely attaching limbs, ears, safety eyes, and other appendages.
• How to insert Crinkle
• Stuffing: Properly stuffing the toy to achieve the desired firmness and shape

What to bring:

• Funky Friend of the Month kit 
  • We ask you to buy our kit so speed up the fabric fusing and cutting and to spend more time learning toy making
• Funky friend Pattern of the month
• Heat n Bond Fusible Fleece 20" or FUSIBLE FLEECE PELLON 44"
  • We will help you to figure out how much is needed for each separate toy. Also, usually we write the amounts in the toy of the month kit description.
• Sewing machine in working order (including power cable and pedal)
• 1/4 inch foot
• Super sharp fabric scissors.
  • I use Tula Pink Limited Edition Black & Gold Scissor Tin 
• Any weights or Sew Tites.
  • I use Kaffe Fassett Pattern Weights 

• Air Erasable Marker Thick Purple
• HBF Polyester Fiberfill
• Quick Turn - Fabric Tube Turner
• If you are a Bernina lover, use 57/57C/57D foot for a perfect quarter inch seam and BERNINA CANADA - Foot #52/52C/52D Zigzag with Non-Stick Sole for stitching on top of the crinkle
  
• If you don't like to watch the presentation on TV, bring your IPAD.

The homework:

• All the fabric pieces from the kit must be pre-fused to the fusible fleece
• All the paper pieces must be cut out from the pattern
