Where We Stand – A Message from Artistic Quilts with Colors Inc.

Dear Artistic Quilters,

As you may have heard, Canada is responding to U.S. tariffs with its own set of reciprocal tariffs. The first wave (as of March 4) did not impact the products we carry here at Artistic Quilts with Colors Inc.

However, a second wave is expected in early April, and it may affect several U.S.-made items—many of which are staples in our quilting and sewing world. This includes:

  • Some of our Cotton & Polyester Threads
  • Cotton Fabrics
  • Fusible Interfacing & Foam Stabilizers
  • Quilt Batting
  • Patterns, Stencils, and Notions
  • Softcover Books
  • Zippers and more

The full list is now available for public review and feedback for 21 days on the Canada Revenue Agency website. We encourage you, as fellow makers and small business champions, to add your voice and share how this could impact your passion and livelihood.

✨ Keep in mind: These tariffs will not affect non-U.S. goods that are simply shipped through the States.
