This is a must-do class if you have just purchased an embroidery module (and even if you haven't)
I am so glad I took this class. I had only recently purchased a new embroidery module for my Bernina 770QE and to be honest I was feeling a bit intimidated. But now, I'm using it like a pro!
Jenny, our instructor, took us step by step through the whole process of machine embroidery from (1) explaining the different types of fabric stabilizers and embroidery threads and when to use them; (2) teaching us how to correctly hoop an embroidery project and (3) teaching us how to use all the various embroidery features on our sewing machines, in particular how to use them to get the most precise and best results you could ever hope for, eg. how to centre motifs in the hoop and how to combine different motifs to create an even more interesting final project. All of this was hands-on, as we had our own sewing machines, which helped me to feel that if I could do it here then I could definitely do it at home as well! During the class, Jenny led us methodically through an embroidery workbook and each of the participants were given the same workbook to take home, which comes in handy to help refresh my memory of what I learned that day.
