Quilter’s Tip of the Week: Mastering Curved Cuts!
Curved piecing can feel intimidating, but smooth, precise cuts make all the difference!
Here are a few tips to help you tackle those curves with confidence: Use a Small Rotary Cutter – A 28mm or 18mm rotary cutter gives you better
control around curves than a standard 45mm blade.

Stabilize Your Fabric – Spray starch or Best Press helps keep fabric from stretching while cutting and sewing.

Cut Slowly & Steadily – Rushing leads to jagged edges! Keep your blade close to the edge of the template and move smoothly through the curve.

Try Acrylic Templates – If your pattern includes curves, use a sturdy acrylic template for clean, consistent shapes.
Practice Makes Perfect! – Start with gentle curves before tackling tighter ones, and don’t be afraid to test on scrap fabric first.
Embrace the curves and let your creativity flow! Happy quilting!
